Response to the Future

Development of media technology over our future career and our practicing c.2068

Technology is currently the most vastly growing element of our society. Everyday people are looking for something new, and technology is catching up to its demands. Like the black and white films of the early 1900’s and the appearance of color and even 4D technology, people will be looking for even more shocking visuals to enjoy. Over the next 50 years, I believe media will develop in a more interactive way. Visual reality may become an everyday phenomenon, and more and more things will go digital and depend on a world that will be more controlled by human hands.

About my personal life over the span of 50 years

Hopefully I would be entering the illustration field. What I really hope to do is go back to my home country and get a job to settle down there. Due to the vastly developing digital world of the 21st century, I believe that my next span of 50 years would be applying that technology to art. I like to work digitally and I see myself working digitally over my future career. I bet that there will be a lot more for me to learn in the following future in order to work within the industry.

What would my 70 year old self tell the 20 year old self to better prepare for the future?

Creativity is crucial to catch up with the every development. Especially because art is creation of something new, it is ideal to communicate with the audience using every resource that is available during that period. Although sticking to traditions may also work out for many artists, media technology grows everyday and people’s eye level will quickly catch up to that and so will you. Be sensitive about the trend and apply it to your creation. Don’t try to stick with what you already have but try out something new.
